The Central Register of Livestock (CEHZ) records:

• breeding and establishments
• owners and keepers
• animals and events concerning them
• movements of animals
• veterinary operations and checks It is also linked to other systems within and outside the Department.

AXON PRO has developed the livestock recording system itself, as well as interfaces to it using REST APIs, SOAP and so on. The CEHZ information system won the IT Project of the Year 2004 award.

Technology

The CEHZ information system is developed in the JAVA programming language, with data stored in an ORACLE database. It uses a web interface for user work and also includes a REST API for interfacing with other information systems.
